Established as a result of the Panafricanist vision of Heads of State of the CENSAD member states, the Sahel-Saharan Investment and Trade Bank, BSIC, a modern banking institution, is one of the most significant illustrations of economic integration in the Sahel-Sahara sub region, an indispensable step toward the materialization of the African Union.

This challenge is known as sub regional synergy and integrated development.
